Les Musiciens du Louvre founded in 1982 by Marc Minkowski, is one of the leading ensembles contributing to the renewal of early music in France. In its early years, the group was acclaimed for its performances of Purcell and Handel. Five years later, for the tercentenary of Lully’s death, the group’s recording of the Comédies-ballets for Erato expanded its recognition. From that point on, Les Musiciens du Louvre specialized in French baroque music and Handel. |
